Dec 5 - 1st day Bangkok Thailand

Well another whirlwind day. Up at 5:30 for breakfast and flight to Bangkok Thailand. Arrived around 12 but the rooms not ready so off we venture for a beer in a local pub. Ended up in an American based bar called “The Game”.  lol American flags and license plates from several states hung around us. Beers in this part of Thailand not cheap. About C7$ Most expensive we’ve had. Saw a Mac Donald’s so we had to check it out and get some fries. OMG just like home!  Yum. Lol Then at 2pm we wandered back to the hotel to check in and down to the pool for a dip. Very refreshing. At 5 pm our new tour guide (every city we get a new one) named BoBo picked us up in Tuk Tuks for a city tour by night, with guess what,  more street food of local cuisine. Hmmmmm should have eaten more fries at McDonald’s.  lol More touring and saw the lights of the old city and then stopped for a walk around Chinatown. It’s a national holiday today so there were way more lights than usual. It was quite the place. More street food from everything from crickets, scorpions to chicken on a stick and almost every kind of meat fried with some kind of sauce. Our guide had us try some but…… I couldn’t do the dried worms or scorpions. Even the other things we tried were a little hard to take. It was an amazing experience though to see how people live in different cultures. Loved every minute. At 8:30 the tuk tuk drivers dropped us back to the hotel. Now to rest up for another busy day tomorrow.
