Vietnam Cambodia Thailand 2024: Nov 28 Marble mountain, Bana Hills and Golden bridge tour

Another amazing day. Started with breakfast at the La Siesta resort. Our driver Bao and Ruby picked us up 9 am. First highlight was marble mountain and a Pagoda cave with original hand carved marble Buddha statues dating back to the 17th century. Then after 45 minutes on the Tour bus we arrived at the base of Bana Hills where we boarded a cable car and travelled for approx 20 min to a height of 1400 metres above sea level. It was absolutely amazing with spectacular views of the valley and city of Danang below. Soon we were as high as the clouds but were so lucky not to have rain. Lots of fog but we were still able to get a great view of the Golden bridge. It was so cool to see the bridge with the huge hands holding it up. It represents hands holding up a strip of silk against the sky. Once to the top of the mountain , we visited the “ French city “ and enjoyed a few free glasses of beer at the Sun craft brew house. We walked through the beautiful gardens of Bana Hills and then took the cable car back to base. The French city is like a fairy tail world built on top of the mountain. Then on to Danang for another authentic lunch which was actually pretty tasty. On our way back to the hotel we hit scooter rush hour traffic. It was great for a few laughs. I’ve never seen so many scooters in one place. This evening we had a few drinks in Bev and Jerald’s room and then Brenda Garnet and I walked into the city of Hoi An to see the lanterns again and check out a few shops along the way. Now we are back in our rooms, repacked again and ready for our early morning ride to the Danang airport for flight to Ho Chi Ming city better known as Saigon.
